Confessions of a Secret Closet SNACKER!

Confessions of a

Secret Closet SNACKER!

When I got on the scale this morning I thought I would have lost 2 pounds b/c this past Wednesday the scale showed -2. This week I worked out everyday and I ate healthy, but I was snacking a lot during the last two weeks and I haven’t been counting my calories. I would snack at work and late in the evening after dinner, I didn’t think about how much I was eating until I got on the scale this morning. Last week I thought not exercising was the reason I didn’t lose any weight, but snacking also played a part into it too.

Am I angry? No

Am I disappointed in myself? yes a little, my snacking wasn’t a bunch of junk food, my snacking was having larger portions at dinner time and overeating on healthy food during the day.

I’m nowhere prefect, but this time last year if I had too much to eat or if I had a soda I would give up and tell myself to restart on Monday. I’m growing and learning more about myself each day during this journey. My new saying is;

“IF YOU MESS UP DON’T GIVE UP”!

I know what I need to do and I’m planning on having a good week next week. I’m going to count my calories and control my snacking.  I want to be honest b/c I don’t want others to think that I’m doing SUPER great without struggles. I struggle each day and everyday, but I have to remember why I started this journey and I remember that I don’t want to start 2015 with another DIET Resolution.

I messed up with not watching my portions and snacking too much, but I’m not going to give up. I’m going to keep moving and stay positive through this journey. I know I’m strong and I have faith that God will help me each day.

WEIGH-IN

Today was weigh-in day and I was actually excited to get on the scale, that doesn’t happen often. I worked out to the 21 Day fix 7 days and I did three days of my C25K, today I have to do Yoga today.

Wow, I have lost 30 pounds, its a great feeling, but I have a long road ahead of me and I’m ready to take the challenge.

March Review!

I can’t believe March is almost over, this year is going by so fast. April is coming around the corner fast and I’m hoping warm weather comes to Virginia. I have been exploring other blogs to see and get the feel of how to express and share my journey in a fun and unique way with all of you.

I’m going to share some of things that I have been enjoying on my journey and what motivates me.

This weeks weight loss is -2 pounds

Total weight loss 24.2

What I’m loving!

Loving Britt Nicole:

My sister introduced me to Britt Nicole way back and I just love her music. Currently this one song she sings I keep playing b/c the song hits close to home with me. My sister dedicated the song to me and I just love it. My sister has this way of picking the right song. The song that I’m currently loving this month is “Still that Girl”.

My favorite Apps:

My favorite apps this month are The Hungry Girl Diet App and Skinny Mom App. These two apps are AWESOME and I highly recommend you downloading them ASAP.

The Hungry Girl App goes with her new book called The Hungry Girl Diet. The app provides a shopping list, calendar, and items that she has recommend in her book to help you lose 10 pounds in 4 weeks. I have been a big fan of Hungry Girl since I saw an article about her on Weight Watchers website. She provides awesome and healthy recipes so that you don’t have to give up the food you love. The Skinny Mom app is fabulous! The app provides so many things and you can save them to your favorites, but you have sign up on her site. The Skinny mom app provides awesome and healthy recipes, fitness articles, health articles, life style articles, and so much more. I just love it b/c when I’m out or at work and I want to make something different, I pull up this app on my phone b/c it provides so much information right in the palm of hand.

My favorite Meal & Dessert:

I made so many awesome recipes in the month of March, so this is going to be hard. My favorite meal this month would have to be the Easy Bubble Up Enchilada Casserole from Kelly at No Thanks to Cake.  Its really easy to make and so very good. Check out her site to follow her journey and get some awesome recipes.

My favorite dessert isn’t healthy and I know that’s bad to say, but I don’t think its wrong to have a treat. I made these awesome Guinness Fudge Cupcakes with Bailey Irish Cream for St. Patrick’s Day. They were delicious!!

My Favorite Blog for the month of March:

I have so many blogs that I love and that have been helping me through my journey. Its great see other people on their journey b/c it’s encouraging and motivating.

I can’t just pick one blog so I chose to pick two

SkinnyMom is a fabulous site, she provide so much helpful information. I could stay on her site forever and when I found out she had an app I was on my phone a lot looking up recipes and articles. The site is FABULOUS!

I don’t want to say I’m a stalker just a very loyal fan. I love her site and I have mentioned her so many times b/c she is that great. Kelly from No Thanks to Cake is FABULOUS and she too provides so many helpful things too. What I really love about Kelly is that she has bad days, but she doesn’t let those bad days take her down. I love reading about her journey!

My Favorite Quote for the month of March:

Week 1 Review

I did my first week of T25 Beta and Beta is taking me out of my comfort zone. There is some cardio involved, but there is also strength training. Strength training and me don’t mix, its really hard.  My eating habits were one point until Friday night, I did snack a little more than usual.

This journey is hard, but I have to stay

This weeks weight loss is 0.2 pounds

Total weight loss 22.2

I’m not happy with those numbers, but I was quickly reminded by my friend and sister that I need to think about how far I have come since I started. I should not let the numbers define who I am and my accomplishments during this journey. I just need to work hard and stay positive even when I get knocked down.

Saturday I did two works outs from Beta and I seriously started yelling at Shaun T. During the day I decided to bake, I have so many things in my house that I just wanted to bake and I made a wonderful dinner for my mom and I.

I hit up Pinterest on Saturday and I made some yummy desserts. My nephew enjoyed my Chocolate Chip cookies made from Chickpeas and I also made a Orange Creamsicle cake. The recipe for both will be posted. I have some pictures of course!

Dinner was Steak marinated in Guinness

I really love cooking and I love that its healthy, but you can overeat healthy food too. Enjoy in modifications.

No Excuses!

I just wanted to apologize for going Ghost on everyone this past week. This past week I worked out 2 times, but I’m not going to beat myself up. I had a bad week, but that’s the past and we are starting a new week. Even though I had a bad week, I did lose some weight this week.

This weeks weight loss is -1.8 lbs.

Total weight loss 22 lbs.

After church I came home and did some food prepping. Again I truly adore Kelly from NoThankstoCake, she has easy, fun, and healthy recipes. I love ranch dressing and I love dipping my veggies in ranch dressing, but ranch is high in calories. When I saw her post about Roasted Red Pepper Veggie Dip, I wasn’t sure if I would like it. I got the ingredients and made the dip and I’m hooked. The total calories for the veggie dip is 38.[singlepic id=8 w=320 h=240 float=center]

I made some strawberry and grape fruit cups for my snack this week. I used 1/2 cup of strawberries and 1/2 cup of green grapes, total calories 76.5. I want to make sure I get my veggies and fruit in my menu each day. I also made a snack that I got from Health.com, its sweet and salty. It’s called Sweet Wasabi Trail Mix and its only 68 calories. The recipe calls for 2 teaspoons of dry roasted peanuts, 2 teaspoons of cranberries, and 2 teaspoons of wasabi peas.[singlepic id=9 w=320 h=240 float=center] [singlepic id=10 w=320 h=240 float=center]

I have my dinner and breakfast planned out for next week. Since I didn’t do good on week 1 of Beta, I will be starting week 1 again. I’m ready to kick butt this week!!!

End of Week 3: Hungry

This week my eating wasn’t at its best, but it wasn’t horrible. I’m not really sure what happen, but I’m not going to beat myself for having too many Oreos. Those who know me know that I love Roseanne. I love her earlier episodes of her show, so the video is how I felt this past week.  It’s a little long about 8mins, but its worth it. I’m always reflecting my life to episodes of Roseanne.

My arch in my left foot has been hurting, which has caused a lot of frustration because I feel I can’t put my all in my workout. I went to the Running Store, made a few calls, and spoke to a friend and I finally got a new pair of shoes. I had to order them online because the store didn’t have the kind I needed. My new shoes are Altra Provision 1.5, extra cushion and the bottom of the shoes are flat. I’m super excited to get them in the mail, but in the meantime I will be working out with no shoes on.

Today was weigh day!!!
