Three Day Beach Weekend!!

Three Day Beach Weekend!!

I left on Saturday morning to head to the beach for a couple of days. We went to Corolla NC and our beach house was so beautiful. My brother in laws family invited my son and I and we had an amazing time there. Great weather and great company equals a great weekend.  Zay and I went to the beach to collect shells while everyone else was driving in. We were so excited that we left early Saturday morning and got to the beach about two. That night we had some yummy dessert and I had to go buy me some of the ice cream b/c it was that good. It’s called Talenti Sea Salt Caramel, expensive but so good.

On Sunday we had waffle breakfast and again the food was amazing. I have to go buy me a waffle machine!! I have never seen a Lighthouse up close and there was one in Currituck Beach. We were told that the lighthouse was about 3 miles so we decided to walk to the lighthouse, but it was actually 5.46 miles. Sunday was beautiful and I always enjoy talking to my sister. Check out the site at Currituck Beach Lighthouse. The view from above was just amazing. I highly recommend going if you haven’t gone.

Monday before I left to come home we went to the Dunes and it was pretty cool. It reminded me of the movie Spaceballs. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed seeing the kids have fun. It’s a great place to go fly a kite and it has a beautiful view. I had a wonderful weekend and I was sad that ended so quickly. I hope to have another family adventure soon, summer is around the corner.

First Week of April

First Week of April

Let me just say that Spring has finally arrived in VA!!!

The first week of April wasnt my best, but it wasnt my worse.  I missed one workout last week and my eating habits were not really good. I didnt track what I was eating at all last week.

This weeks weight loss is -0 pounds

Total weight loss 24.2

I’m happy to say I didnt gain anything, but a little sad I didnt lose anything. My goal for my birthday is to be in the low 200’s and I know I can get there, I just need to recapture my focus.

I did take a before and after photo and I do see a difference which makes me really happy. I started T25 February 1st and I completed Alpha and now I’m working on Beta. I’m on week 4 of Beta and then I will be on week 5 which is the last week. I have lost 20 pounds since starting T25. Thank you Shaun T for making such and awesome workout. My goal is to restart the program in July and I will be doing Alpha, Beta, and Gamma.

I was suppose to start running last week, but that didnt go as planned. I had a rough week last week, but its ok I’m going to keep moving forward.

My son Isiah started soccer and he did great at his first game. He has practices on Fridays, so my goal is to run Fridays at the park while he is with his coach. I want to get 3 to 4 runs in a week plus do my T25 workouts. I know that T25 is coming to an end soon, so I will be trying a new workout from FIRM and its 30 mintues a day plus my running.

I feel I have my exercise down, but my eating needs to be revamped. I really need to put more veggies into my diet and plan a little better. I’m seeing what areas I need to improve on and I’m working on it. I didnt start this journey as an expert in fitness and nutrition. As the days and months go by I’m learning what works and what doesnt work for me.

I see myself at 145 starting in 2015. I picture myself being at my goal weight making new goals and weight loss isnt going to be one of them. Of course I have to learn to maintain my goal weight, but just to be able to start a new year with no regrets is going to feel AWESOME.

On Saturday I did my two workouts and cleaned up and then on Sunday I went on a beautiful hike with some great ladies. The women’s ministry will be doing a hike each month so that everyone can enjoy the beauty of VA. My sister and I are planning to go back to WhiteOak and do the full hike and its about 8 miles. We usually do a 2 mile hike up to the waterfalls, but the trail goes farther so I’m looking forward to being challenged. I think I will use WhiteOak as my teacher this summer, so when fall comes I will be ready for Old Rag.

When I first went to Old Rag I wasnt ready one bit. I cried and cried and wanted to get off that mountain. It was really hard, but I felt good after I got off b/c at 215 I climed a BIG Moutain. The mountain pushed me to my limits and my goal is to beat my time from the last time I went. I know I can do it and I’m going to train myself, so when I go the mountain will be eating my dust.

Weekend Fun!!!

I had a wonderful weekend with my sister Shannon. Her birthday was on Saturday and we went out of town to celebrate. We went to New Jersey, New York, and Boston all in one weekend. It’s always great to spend time with her, she’s by best friend and we just laugh all the time. She had me laughing so hard in the car on our way back that I spit my tea out all over the window. We made so many memories this past weekend that I will cherish forever.

We went to the WTC Memorial in New York and it was so beautiful. Then we went to New Jersey to Carlo’s Bakery and I have no words for that place.  We drove to Boston to go to Alma Nove and Wahlburgers.  I’m totally in love with the show and the Wahlberg men.

We arrived in New Jersey and had dinner at the hotel we stayed at. We got up Saturday morning and we headed to New York. I haven’t been to New York since I was in high school, so this was going to be fun. We got on the Path train and everyone kept coming into our door and it was so packed. Everyone was touching everyone, people were to dang close to me, too close. We walked about 20 plus miles that day and it was a beautiful day.

The memorial was so beautiful and so very emotional. There was this church that stood after the two buildings fell, but it should have collapsed. They used the church as a place to go to rest and they held supplies there to help them. It’s called the “The Little Chapel that Stood”.  The name of the church is called St. Paul’s Chapel. If you haven’t gone, I highly recommend going.

Then after our little day in New York we headed back to New Jersey to go to Carlo’s Bakery aka the “Cake Boss” I truly don’t have any nice words about this place. It was a fun experience b/c I was with my sister, but don’t waste your time going. The service was horrible and the cupcakes we got were so dry.

Our last stop was Boston and the drive to Boston was hilarious b/c I had to drive in New York. Frightening and Funny!! We arrived at our hotel in Boston and it was really nice.  I love Donnie and Mark Wahlberg, but now I really love Paul. He is my favorite Wahlberg! We went to Alma Nove for lunch which is their mothers restaurant, the service there was wonderful. Our waitress was extremely nice.  Paul Wahlberg came over and wished my sister a Happy Birthday and they even brought her out a piece of cake.  Paul is just like he is on TV, love him. We waited till about 5 to have dinner at Wahlburgers and again the service there was awesome and the food was really good.  LOVED IT!!!

The weekend was amazing and I’m so happy that I could do it with my sister!!!

Sunday Love: Sister Day!

Yesterday was truly amazing, I had so much fun! My sister and I started off at Molly’s Irish Pub in Warrenton for lunch. I went outside my normal ordering and I got Bangers & Mash, it was really good. It was small little restaurant, but with a wonderful and pleasant atmosphere.

We then went to Georgetown for a Chocolate tour. It was so much fun; I enjoy spending time with her. We do nothing but laugh!! We missed the tour, but we tracked them down at this wonderful place called Fleurir Hand Grown Chocolates. Their chocolate was amazing, their bakery is in Alexandria and their adorable store was in Georgetown. They hold chocolate cooking classes and we are going to plan a weekend to do that. I love CHOCOLATE! We came home and brought my brother in law Ben a South Bar “Hickory Smoke Caramel and Crispy Bacon in a milk chocolate blend. The name might turn you off, but it was actually pretty good.

Visit their site at

After the tour my sister took me to the Exorcist Stairs, it was creepy. I remembered never wanting to watch that movie and I finally did at the age of 21. The crazy part is that I’m a horror movie queen, but that movie just scared me. We went to the stairs and then my sister says lets go up it and my first thought was to hurt her. I love when I’m with her because she pushes me out of my comfort zone. I went up and down the stairs 2 times and my sister went 6 times. We are on a healthy journey together and we enjoy pushing each other. We are going back once I lose 57 pounds and we are going to run up those stairs 10 times.

This was a Christmas gift from my sister b/c she knows how much I love chocolate. I love her so much and I love that we are best friends. We are heading to New Jersey and Boston in two weeks and I’m super excited.
